Dear (INSERT NAME)
I work for (EMPLOYER) and on occasions I am deployed to a breakdown onto the motorway hard shoulder, as you may be aware this is a highly dangerous environment, especially at night, we receive specialised training in dealing with this type of situation, all safety equipment required is supplied to us, our vehicles are modern with modern brightly coloured, strobe warning lights and we have back up from our roadside colleagues and our office based staff if needed, however accidents can still happen, Statistics show that over 1500 people are killed or seriously injured on the UK`s motorways & A roads, our aim is to seriously reduce that number by introducing a new law into the UK, the law will force driver to slow down and as soon as it is safe to do so to move over when they see an emergency, rescue or highways agency vehicle working on the hard shoulder of the motorway
I am asking that if possible you could raise this issue with the Transport Secretary as a matter of urgency and also to draw her attention to the campaign website at www.slowdownmoveover.co.uk.
I thank you for your time and look forward to your reply.
Please feel free to Email us at Contact@slowdownmoveover.co.uk for your input.
